At THE LINGO, we offer a unique and authentic learning experience for upper-intermediate to advanced learners.

The concept was born out of my own language journey as an adult language learner and the frustration I faced when trying to eloquently and politely engage in more nuanced and politically sensitive conversations. I wanted lessons that I found stimulating and that provided me with the finesse that I held in my own language.

Frustrated with text book language and prescribed courses, I sought out alternative ways of learning including reading novels in native languages, watching films, news, and scientific updates from original sources and tried to engage other native speakers in conversation around these topics. I quickly saw an improvement in my ability and motivation.
 
I have designed our courses to be engaging and interactive, using real-world materials that provide a cultural experience and push learners to think outside of the box. I use my experience in teaching exam skills to encourage critical thinking, text analysis, and encourage healthy debate.

If you enjoy speaking English, and want an alternative to traditional, text-book led courses, this is the school for you. We use content and language integrated learning (CLIL) to help you organically acquire the language resource you need to fluently and confidently talk about the topics that interest and engage you. From book clubs to current affairs conversation classes, we cover a diverse range of topics that appeal to adult learners wanting to improve or maintain their language skills outside of a traditional classroom setting.
